It is with a lot of sadness that we have to announce the cancellation of the 14th edition of the Raismes Fest, the older french metal festival (since 1998). This festival was organised for 13 years now by a team of volunteers who were working hard all along the year to propose the best possible festival. We have been told 6 weeks ago that the city of Raismes had big financial difficulties. So,a week later, the mayor made the decision to divide in 2 the financial help to the Raismes Fest. This has been done though we already had announced and confirmed several bands. You will easily imagine the confusion for the Raismes Fest team. Not only confusion but also a big anger and deep disappointment. So we have tried to find a solution to make the festival possible. We have decided not to confirm one band and to reduce the technical costs. We have presented a new projected budget which was considered as practicable and we were hoping a good news 2 weeks ago. But the mayor’s answer has been negative. We have worked very hard this year for nothing ! We had a great line up this year and we were very happy to propose bands like Vanden Plas, MR BIG ,Caliban , Electric Mary etc. But all our explanations didn’t convince the financial providers. This situation is totally independent of our will. Thanks to all the bands that wanted to perform our festival and to all the agents and promoters who work with us every year for so much years. Now we hope that next year there will be another Raismes Fest edition. Keep on rockin’ ! |
